Job Description:
Motus Multifranchise Polokwane seeks a Bookkeeper to perform accounting duties and support the Financial Manager. The role involves maintaining accurate financial records, managing debtor duties, and ensuring adherence to accounting principles.

Position Overview:
The role ensures the accurate completion of all reporting requirements and management accounts according to best practice accounting principles.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Financial Reporting
    • Prepare, report, and consolidate financial statements.
    • Generate trial balances and reconciliations.
    • Ensure all accruals and journal entries are up to date.
  2. Payments and Receipts Management
    • Manage payments and allocation of receipts (cheques, EFTs).
    • Handle debtors and once-off payments.
  3. Asset Control
    • Manage fixed assets, including calculations of additions, disposals, and depreciation.
    • Align physical assets with the asset register.
  4. Debtors Management
    • Action vehicle debtor queries within specified timeframes.
    • Handle insurance administration and claims, including 3rd party payments.
  5. Stock Management
    • Prepare and review vehicle, parts, and asset stock-takes.
    • Process credit notes and perform parts creditors reconciliations.
  6. Audit and VAT Compliance
    • Prepare audit schedules and assist in finalizing audits.
    • Calculate and submit monthly VAT Reconciliation.
  7. Cash Management
    • Ensure proper filing and archiving of financial documents.
    • Adhere to correct accounting policies and procedures.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Education:
    • Minimum: Senior Certificate with Mathematics and Accounting.
    • Desired: N. Diploma or B.Com degree with Accounting (or relevant NQF6/NQF7+ qualification).
  • Experience:
    • 3+ years of bookkeeping experience in a similar environment.
    • Experience in the motor industry at dealership level is highly desired.
  • Other Requirements:
    • Valid, unendorsed driver’s license.
    • Highly proficient in Excel and Outlook.
    • Knowledge of DMS functions (Drive IA) is advantageous.
