Job Introduction
G4S Secure Solutions (SA), a leading provider of integrated security management solutions, is building a Talent Pool for an Installation Technician in the Electronic Security Services (ESS) division. This role is based in Northern Cape and North West, South Africa. The successful candidate will be responsible for the implementation, installation, and maintenance of technology contracts and projects on client sites. The ideal candidate should be a self-starter with a strong track record in adhering to company policies and best practices.

Role Responsibility

Main Purpose of the Role

• Provide expert service in implementing, installing, and maintaining technology contracts and projects on various client sites.

Effective Administration of Technology Contracts

• Manage the profitability of contracts, focusing on maintenance, cost-effectiveness, and labor.
• Ensure accurate record-keeping of contract costs and invoice documentation.

Effective Management of Employees

• Manage subordinates’ work flow and job requirements, ensuring tasks are completed to meet deadlines.
• Allocate resources appropriately to meet operational demands.
• Train, coach, and evaluate subordinates, maintaining high standards of behavior as per company codes.

Effective Management of Operations

• Coordinate process flow and daily tasks to ensure successful project outcomes.
• Monitor standards and manage subordinates’ hours closely.

Client Retention and Customer Service Levels

• Schedule and attend customer meetings, ensuring positive relationships and adherence to service standards.

Quality Management

• Conduct and oversee quality controls and inspections, ensuring adherence to standards.

Effective Business Development Management

• Identify new business opportunities and potential growth with existing customers.

Health and Safety

• Participate in safety planning, forums, and incident reporting.
• Comply with safety policies, attend refresher programs, and distribute safety information.

The Ideal Candidate

Qualifications and Experience

• Grade 12/Matric or equivalent
• PSIRA Grade E Accreditation
• Experience in Electronic Security Services (advantageous)
• Minimum of 2 years of junior supervisory management experience (advantageous)
• Extensive experience in implementing systems such as CCTV, Access Control, Time and Attendance, Intruder Detection, Fire Detection, and Fire Suppression

Software Knowledge

• Broad knowledge of Time and Attendance, Access Control, and CCTV
• Strong understanding of communication protocols, such as TCP/IP

Hardware Knowledge

• Broad knowledge of hardware for Time and Attendance, Access Control, CCTV, Alarms, Electric Fencing, Gate Motors, Intercoms, PA systems, and CAT5 wiring

Skills and Attributes

• Knowledge of Health and Safety legislation
• Leadership and conflict management skills
• Excellent communication (written and verbal) and negotiation skills
• Basic financial skills and risk identification
