Job Description:

As a Code 14 Driver, you will be responsible for transporting goods to customers safely and on time. This role is crucial for maintaining our supply chain efficiency and customer satisfaction. We are looking for a dedicated and reliable individual who values punctuality, teamwork, and safe driving practices.

Key Responsibilities:

• Daily Vehicle Inspection: Perform thorough checks of the vehicle before each trip to ensure it’s in good working condition.
• Timely Deliveries: Deliver goods to clients punctually and to the correct destination.
• Vehicle Maintenance Reporting: Report any vehicle issues to your supervisor promptly.
• Loading and Unloading: Safely load, unload, and secure items for transport.
• Delivery Verification: Confirm and verify delivery instructions and obtain proof of delivery or signatures as required.
• Safe Driving: Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations, ensuring safe driving practices.
• Record Maintenance: Maintain accurate records of invoices, fuel slips, and working hours.
• Vehicle Safety Compliance: Follow vehicle safety rules and standards, including ensuring tyre pressure is appropriate for the load.
• License Management: Maintain a valid Code 14 (EC) driver’s license and ensure the vehicle’s license disk is visible and valid.
• Vehicle Cleanliness: Ensure the vehicle is kept clean and all items are handled and stored safely.
• Incident Reporting: Report any road incidents, accidents, or violations to your supervisor.
• Goods Verification: Verify the quantity and condition of loaded goods.

Preferences:

While meeting the following preferences would be beneficial, they are not mandatory:

• Experience with various truck brands and sizes.
• Familiarity with different truck gearboxes.
• Experience driving long-distance routes.
• Knowledge of using GPS and navigation systems.
• No traffic accidents in the past 3 years.
• Possession of a professional driving permit (PrDP).
