Job Description:
As a Cashier, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our customers have a pleasant shopping experience. Your primary responsibilities will include handling money accurately, managing transactions efficiently, and maintaining a clean and organised till area. Reporting directly to the Till Supervisor, you will be required to work various shifts across trading and non-trading hours, including Sundays and public holidays.
Key Responsibilities:
- Electronic Point of Sale (POS) Operation: Efficiently operate a POS system with an attached scale.
- Accurate Transaction Processing: Accurately ring up all customer purchases and ensure the correct amount of change is given.
- Payment Method Management: Maintain accurate handling of all payment methods, ensuring a balanced cash up.
- Till Area Maintenance: Keep the till area clean, hygienic, and organised.
- Customer Service: Provide each customer with exceptional and friendly service, maintaining a positive attitude.
- Product Knowledge: Stay informed about products on sale, including product codes.
- Promotion Awareness: Keep up to date with all promotions and advertisements.
- Time Management: Work efficiently, particularly during busy periods.
- Communication: Maintain strong communication with team members and supervisors.
Preferences:
While meeting the following preferences would be beneficial, they are not mandatory:
- Previous experience as a cashier.
- Familiarity with electronic point of sale (POS) systems.
- Ability to work under pressure, particularly during busy periods.
