Job Description:

As a Cashier, your primary responsibility is to handle monetary transactions accurately and efficiently while providing exceptional customer service. You will be required to work different shifts, including Sundays and Public Holidays, reporting directly to the Till Supervisor.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate Electronic POS: Efficiently manage an electronic point of sale (POS) system with an attached scale.
  • Process Transactions: Accurately ring up products, ensure the correct change is given, and maintain balanced cash-ups.
  • Maintain Till Area: Keep the till area clean, hygienic, and organized.
  • Customer Service: Provide exceptional and friendly customer service, maintaining a positive attitude.
  • Product Knowledge: Maintain solid knowledge of products on sale, product codes, promotions, and advertisements.
  • Communication: Maintain strong communication and time management skills, especially during busy periods.

Preferences:

  • Experience with cash registers or computer-based POS systems.
  • Ability to handle different payment methods like cash, debit cards, and credit cards.
  • Strong organizational skills to maintain a clean and organized checkout area.
  • Experience in handling customer complaints and concerns.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks in a busy checkout area.
