Are you passionate about optimizing plant reliability and driving continuous improvement? Join SAB as a Brewing Maintenance Controller and play a key role in enhancing plant performance and maintenance efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Asset Care:

  • Maintenance Management: Lead and manage all Brewing maintenance activities on the day shift, including diagnosing and interpreting problems to optimize production output.
  • Breakdown Reduction: Analyze breakdowns, ensure compliance with Planned Maintenance (PM) requirements, and implement continuous improvements.
  • Procedure Implementation: Review and implement Planned Maintenance Procedures, ensuring service levels are maintained for breakdown, corrective, preventative, and predictive maintenance.
  • Team Development: Coach and develop engineering skills of maintenance and operational staff using OPLs (Operational Performance Logs), SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures), and SWIs (Standard Work Instructions).
  • Cost Control: Manage maintenance costs against the budget and ensure engineering standards are applied correctly.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with Pressure Vessels and Equipment Regulations and support CAPEX project scoping.

2. Problem Solving and Decision Making:

  • Fault Finding: Resolve engineering and operational problems using problem-solving methodologies (e.g., 5 Why, Stage 1).
  • Corrective Actions: Take responsibility for fault finding, corrective actions, and coach team members through the 4 phases of problem-solving.
  • Major Engineering Losses: Identify and investigate major engineering losses in the Brewing area.

3. Safety and Hygiene:

  • Compliance: Ensure team compliance with safety acts, procedures, and standards, including special work permits and dust explosion prevention.
  • Safety Awareness: Promote safety awareness and maintain 5S and housekeeping standards.

4. Administration:

  • Performance Management: Manage team goals, conduct performance reviews, and lead VPO (Visual Performance Optimization) initiatives.
  • Industrial Relations: Apply industrial relations initiatives, policies, and procedures.

5. Quality:

  • Quality Standards: Ensure adherence to company quality standards in the utilities area.

Profile & Qualifications:

  • Educational Requirements:
    • N6 and Trade Tested Fitter or Millwright, or National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (S4).
    • Maintenance Diploma is advantageous.
  • Experience:
    • 3-5 years’ experience in preventive and predictive maintenance in a production plant.
    • Experience with VPO or other continuous improvement tools is advantageous.
    • Knowledge of Brewing plant or bottling hall production and processes is a plus.
  • Skills:
    • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence at various organizational levels.
    • Ability to prioritize and manage maintenance projects effectively.
    • Good knowledge of manufacturing, sustainable development reporting, and SHE (Safety, Health, and Environmental) policies.
