We’re seeking a Packaging Machine Specialist (Electrical) to join our team and help us maintain and optimize our packaging hall machines, ensuring plant availability, product quality, and cost efficiency without compromising on standards.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Machine Maintenance & Optimization:
- SAP Downtime Review: Analyze SAP downtime data daily to prepare for morning meetings with the maintenance controller, ensuring efficient planning and quick issue resolution.
- Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) Development: Create and review Standard Work Instructions (SWIs), SOPs, and schedules, and train operators to maintain high standards of operation.
- Skill Development: Provide training to PEST artisans and shift artisans to close skill gaps, ensuring that your team is well-equipped to handle machinery efficiently.
- Spare Parts Management: Obtain quotes for spare parts from Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs)/Authorized Maintenance Managers (AMMs) and manage the RTS process to recover costs in line with ZBB principles.
- Machine Performance Tracking: Update AWS daily, tracking machine-specific performance and key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure optimal operation.
- Production Support: Offer guidance on machine operation, fault finding, and response to machine failures, providing coaching and mentoring to shift-based teams as required.
2. Maintenance & Repair:
- Planned Maintenance Execution: Carry out work during planned, routine, and opportunity maintenance windows, adhering to the maintenance schedule issued by the Planner.
- Maintenance Postmortems: Participate in post-maintenance reviews to identify problems, opportunities, and learnings from recent activities, driving continuous improvement.
- Autonomous Operations: Execute autonomous operations as required, contributing to the overall efficiency and reliability of the plant.
- Problem Resolution: Where running repairs have been carried out, verify that the problem has been fully addressed and, if necessary, call in additional resources for assistance.
Profile & Qualifications:
- Educational Requirements:
- Minimum of N6 in Instrumentation/Electrical (Trade Tested).
- Or a National Diploma in Electrical Engineering (Process Instrumentation).
- Experience:
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in an FMCG environment.
- Proficiency in Siemens S7 Simatic Manager, TIA Portal, and Allen Bradley PLCs.
- In-depth knowledge of Process Loop Checks and calibration of field instruments.
- Strong familiarity with Networks: As-Interface, Profibus, Profinet, DeviceNet, and Ethernet.
- Expertise in drives like Danfoss, SEW, Simotion, and ACOPOS.
- Robust Electrical and Instrumentation knowledge.
