Reporting Line:
This position reports to the Advertising Sales Specialist – Team Lead.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maximize value from existing Takealot Group relationships, including brands and sellers.
  • Attract new brands, agencies, and non-retail advertisers to invest in both new and existing advertising inventory.
  • Initiate, design, and implement group advertising campaigns.
  • Target suppliers and sellers to offer additional value through group advertising options, working with internal teams.
  • Customize group advertising campaigns for high-value clients.
  • Continuously contribute to the enhancement of the group rate card and pitch deck for standard campaigns.
  • Obtain assets required for designers to implement campaigns effectively.
  • Ensure all booked advertising campaigns are added to the marketing calendar, briefed into retail marketing managers, and executed on time.
  • Oversee billing, payment, and campaign tracking reports, ensuring successful communication of outcomes to clients.
  • Consistently meet and exceed advertising sales targets.
  • Leverage Takealot’s innovations and insights to attract and engage target audiences, ensuring advertising campaigns meet client success criteria.
  • Utilize various pricing and buying models, including self-service, managed service, and programmatic ad buying, to help businesses build brand awareness and increase product sales.
  • Act as a strategic partner to advertising clients, offering a broad range of advertising solutions to meet their business goals.

Required Attributes:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail and follow-through.
  • Strong presentation skills and campaign proposal design and management abilities.
  • Ability to work independently to achieve sales targets.
  • Skilled in managing high-value accounts and relationships at a senior level.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a strong understanding of the digital advertising environment, including sales, products, tools, and campaign management.
  • Ability to identify key advertising sales opportunities and translate them into actionable plans.
  • Ability to manage and influence teams across various business units.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Advanced Diploma (if the degree/diploma requirement isn’t met, 6 years of account management experience is required).
  • 3 years of experience in advertising sales (account management-individual contributor).
  • Experience in Digital Marketing, Advertising, and/or External Sales, with a good understanding of the digital advertising landscape.
  • E-Commerce experience is advantageous.
  • Demonstrated ability to consistently achieve sales targets.
  • Strong track record of internal and external relationship management.
