Job Description:

RCL Foods is seeking a skilled Millwright to join their Milling Division based in Pretoria West. This role reports directly to the Engineering Manager. The primary objective is to ensure effective and accurate plant maintenance to minimize downtime and ensure smooth operation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Preventive Maintenance:
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure that machines run smoothly and systems operate efficiently.
  • Inspect drives, motors, belts, bearings, and replace filters, following maintenance checklists.
  • Clean and lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, and other machinery parts.
• Breakdown Response:
  • Respond quickly to breakdowns in the Mill, Silo, Packing, and Oil Plant to minimize production interruptions.
  • Diagnose and correct mechanical and electrical machine faults.
• Compliance:
  • Ensure compliance with Food Safety Standards and Health and Safety requirements within the department.
  • Record maintenance and repair work performed, maintaining accurate documentation.
• Machine Operation and Inspection:
  • Inspect, operate, and test machinery to diagnose machine malfunctions.
  • Engage in projects and machine installations, ensuring high standards are met.
• Training and Supervision:
  • Direct and train workers in the installation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical and electrical equipment.

Minimum Requirements:

• Experience and Skills:
  • 3 or more years of post-trade experience.
  • PLC/VSD Drives experience is advantageous.
  • Experience with panel wiring is necessary.
  • Milling experience is highly desirable.
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels and work systematically.
  • Strong report writing and analytical skills.
  • Must be able to work shifts and be available for callouts and standby when required.
• Qualifications:
  • Millwright Trade Test certification.
  • Valid driver’s license with own transport.
