Introduction:
The Compliance Coordinator role is designed to support the manufacturing plant in producing and distributing products at the lowest possible cost while adhering to global benchmark standards for reliability, SHEQ service, and costs. This position focuses heavily on conducting SHEQ (Safety, Health, Environmental, and Quality) and GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) audits and implementing health and safety strategies. The role also entails improving the risk profile of the site, managing compliance with Management Systems, and contributing to a sustainable SHEQ culture on-site.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Results:
    • Ensure that the company’s SHEQ management strategic objectives are met at the plant level in collaboration with the HSE Manager.
    • Consistently meet budgeted cost targets for SHEQ.
    • Assist the HSE Manager in managing suppliers and contractors according to the company’s supplier development strategy.
    • Improve the site’s risk profile and ensure compliance with SHEQ management practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Leadership Results:
    • Create a common purpose across the compliance team through regular feedback and updates on SHEQ regulation changes.
    • Involve in setting overall manufacturing standards and anticipating future requirements, such as developing policy standards, protocols, and procedures.
    • Mentor, train, and coach employees on specific SHEQ-related training materials.
  • Operational Responsibilities:
    • Conduct Food Safety and Health & Safety GMP audits.
    • Perform HIRA (Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment) surveys.
    • Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives and process improvement projects within SHEQ.
    • Provide advice, guidance, and feedback based on expertise in SHEQ management.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Educational Requirements:
    • Grade 12 or equivalent qualification
    • Tertiary qualification in SHEQ or a relevant Health & Safety field
  • Experience:
    • Relevant experience in conducting GMP and safety audits, preferably within an FMCG environment
    • At least 3 years of experience within a SHEQ environment in FMCG manufacturing
  • Knowledge:
    • In-depth knowledge of OHSA (Occupational Health and Safety Act)
    • Familiarity with Quality Management System requirements, including ISO 45001:2018, ISO 9001:2015, and FSSC 22000 (Food Safety System)
