Introduction:
We are seeking a highly skilled Quality Manager to join our team in Queenstown. As the custodian of our management system, you will play a critical role in ensuring that plant hygiene, product quality, and compliance standards are upheld. This role requires a leader who can drive continuous improvement, ensure adherence to quality protocols, and develop a team that partners with production to consistently deliver top-quality products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Micro Measurement & Validation: Oversee the micro measurement and validation processes across all equipment and products to ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Plant Hygiene Management: Ensure all staff adhere to stringent cleaning regimes in all process areas, maintaining the highest levels of hygiene.
  • Deviation Investigation: Investigate any deviations from quality standards, establish root causes, and implement preventative measures to mitigate further risks.
  • Team Leadership & Development: Lead, mentor, and develop the quality team, closing any skills gaps and fostering a culture of quality excellence within the production environment.
  • Compliance & Improvement: Ensure monthly compliance with the management system, recommending and implementing improvements during food safety meetings.
  • Training & Inspections: Conduct refresher training and regular inspections to ensure compliance with statutory requirements, workplace hygiene, and product quality standards.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Grade 12; Bachelor’s degree in a quality-related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in quality management, with a strong background in ISO standards, HACCP, hygiene practices, and micro management. Experience in laboratory management is also essential.

  • Negotiating Skills: Excellent negotiating skills to ensure quality and compliance at all levels.
  • Finance Solutions: Ability to understand and implement complex finance solutions related to quality management.
  • Pressure Management: Capability to manage multiple issues simultaneously and work effectively under pressure.
  • Communication & Influence: Strong communication skills with the ability to influence outcomes across all levels and disciplines within the organization.
