Job Description:
As a Butchery Manager, you will be responsible for the preparation of meat products, meat cutting, and manufacturing according to specifications. You will oversee all administrative functions, ensure staff are effectively managed, and maintain a high level of cleanliness and hygiene.
Key Responsibilities:
- Team Management: Lead and supervise employees to ensure the Butchery Department runs smoothly.
- Stock Control: Order and manage stock levels, ensuring proper handling and storage.
- Budget Management: Control budgets, including expenses, turnover, and growth, and take necessary actions to meet financial targets.
- Sales Promotion: Plan and implement sales promotions to drive growth.
- Production Planning: Plan daily and weekly production of meat products.
- Equipment Operation: Operate all Butchery Equipment including the Band saw, Wrapping Machine, Vacuum Machine, Scale Equipment, Mincing Machine, and Boerewors Filler.
- Meat Preparation: Prepare and break down various meat carcasses, debone cuts, manufacture mince, and produce sausage and boerewors.
- Cold Chain Monitoring: Check temperatures and maintain the cold chain to ensure product safety.
- Customer Service: Provide high-quality customer service in a courteous and business-like manner.
- Hygiene and Safety: Maintain hygiene, housekeeping, and safe working standards at all times.
Minimum Requirements:
- Education: Matric Grade 12.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of Butchery experience.
- Flexibility: Willingness to transfer between stores as required.
