Job Overview:

VKB Agriculture (Pty) Ltd, a leading player in the agriculture industry in the Northeast Free State, is looking for a skilled Fitter: Infrastructure to join our dynamic team. This position involves conducting preventative maintenance on structural components at our Free State silos and other necessary locations, ensuring safety, efficiency, and compliance with industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Preventative Maintenance: Apply preventative maintenance on structural components at Free State silos and other required locations.
• Inspections: Conduct regular inspections to identify potential issues and address them before they escalate.
• Maintenance Planning: Develop and implement maintenance schedules and plans.
• Safety Compliance: Ensure all maintenance work complies with safety standards and regulations.
• Team Leadership: Manage and lead a team of 3 maintenance staff, providing guidance and support.
• Record Keeping: Prepare and maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities.
• Coordination: Work closely with other departments to ensure timely completion of maintenance tasks.
• Reporting: Provide detailed reports on maintenance activities and any issues encountered.

Requirements:

• Educational Qualification: Grade 12 (Matric) is required.
• Trade Qualification: Certification in Fitting or Boilermaking is recommended.
• Safety Certifications: Competency certificate for working at heights, inspector certification for access scaffolding, and relevant risk assessment competencies.
• Technical Skills: Competency in rigging, slinging, and fitting.
• Leadership Skills: Experience managing a team of 3 or more, with strong leadership and team management skills.

• Problem-Solving: Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
