Job Overview:

Adendorff Machinery Mart is seeking a motivated and passionate Retail Shop Assistant to join our dynamic Kimberley branch. This role is perfect for someone interested in a career in sales, particularly within the tools and machinery industry. The ideal candidate is a confident, reliable individual with a strong work ethic and the ability to function well within a team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Customer Assistance:
  • Answer customer questions about merchandise.
  • Address customer queries effectively.
  • Advise customers on technical product information.
• Store Maintenance:
  • Restock shelves and maintain store displays.
  • Ensure general housekeeping of the store.
  • Unload deliveries and replenish stock.
  • Collect payments using the store’s point-of-sale system.
• Team Collaboration:
  • Work closely with team members to ensure smooth store operations.
  • Maintain a clean and tidy store environment.

Desired Skills and Experience:

• Education:
  • Minimum requirement is a Senior Certificate (Grade 12).
• Preferred Experience:
  • Previous exposure to the Automotive, Engineering, Tools, and Machinery environment.
  • Experience in Merchandising, Stock Taking, Stock Control, and Retail Branch Procedures.
  • Technical knowledge in the DIY or Hardware environment is an added advantage.
• Personal Attributes:
  • Reliable, honest, and a team player.
  • Strong customer service skills.

Compensation and Benefits:

• Salary:
  • Negotiable with benefits available.

Working Hours:

• Monday to Friday: 08:00 – 17:00
• Saturday: 08:00 – 13:00
