Purpose of the Job Receiving Supervisor
Carry out and supervise tasks within the receiving area or as allocated in the operation to ensure that the receiving activities are carried out as per key and customer requirements.Receiving Supervisor
Roles & Responsibility
Operations
- Ensure that the Standard Operating Procedures are known, understood, trained on, and maintained to ensure that the receiving procedures are carried out correctly Receiving Supervisor
- Understand and know how to use the various business systems, such as ISAStore, MyBusiness, and Embrace.
- Ensure effective planning of inbound stock is done daily as per the volumes to be received
- Ensure effective planning of staff requirements to manage the volumes expected
- Ensure that sufficient materials and equipment are available to carry out the receiving tasks effectively
- Ensure that all stock is handled in a manner that maintains the condition of the stock and its packaging, as well as any specific requirements of the products
- Carry out investigations where required for discrepancies in documentation, vehicles, seals, or products upon receiving
- Communicate issues with the customer where necessary
- Resolve all issues within 24 hours
- Escalate all issues that cannot be resolved to the respective manager
- Ensure all receiving reports are managed, maintained, monitored, actioned upon, and reported to the respective managers
- Analyse receiving statistics from reports and use the information to take action as required
- Ensure that control of all documentation is maintained at all times and that all filings are up-to-date

- Ensure that product master information is correctly recorded upon inbound of new products and SKU changes
Quality, Health, and Safety, and KPI’s
- Ensure that receiving KPIs are known, understood, measured, managed, maintained, and reported on
- Ensure NCRs, NCPs, and IOs are raised daily
- Ensure that all NCR’s, NCP’s, and IO’s are closed off within the required lead time (5 working days)
- Ensure standards of Health and Safety are maintained and that the requirements of the Occupational Health and Safety Act
- Ensure that all monthly checks are carried out as required
- Maintain housekeeping standards daily
Staff
- Ensure adequate staffing levels to meet operational requirements
- Ensure that all staff are adequately trained in all aspects of the operation
- Ensure overtime is kept to a minimum and only required on an exception basis
Minimum Requirements
- Matric (Grade 12)
- Degree/diploma in supply chain/warehousing field beneficial
- 5 years of relevant experience within the warehousing environment
