Position Overview
Airlink is looking for a dedicated and safety-conscious Ramp Controller to join its Ground Operations team at Cape Town International Airport. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating airport flight handling activities as per the flight handling roster, under the direction of the Ramp Supervisor.
This role requires excellent coordination skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple ground operations functions simultaneously in a fast-paced airport environment.
Key Responsibilities

Oversee the handling of aircraft on the ramp according to the daily flight schedule.

Ensure the safe and efficient turnaround of aircraft, including fueling, loading, and baggage handling.

Coordinate ground handling activities in accordance with operational and safety procedures.

Liaise with the Ramp Supervisor and other operational staff to ensure flight readiness.

Monitor compliance with airport regulations, Airlink policies, and safety standards.

Communicate effectively with flight crew, maintenance, and ground staff to prevent delays or disruptions.

Assist in identifying and resolving operational irregularities in real time.

Promote teamwork, discipline, and a strong culture of safety and accountability among ramp staff.
Minimum Requirements
-
Grade 12 / Matric Certificate or equivalent – Essential.

Diploma in Aviation, Ground Operations, or a related field – Preferred.

Code 10 Driver’s License – Required.

Minimum of 1–2 years of industry-related experience in ramp or ground handling operations.

Sound knowledge of aircraft handling, safety protocols, and airport procedures.

Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Ability to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays in accordance with operational requirements.
