Position Overview
RCL Foods is seeking a Maintenance Clerk to join the Pretoria West Bakery. This role supports the Maintenance Planner and Engineering Department with administrative, clerical, scheduling, and engineering tasks to ensure smooth and efficient maintenance operations.
The successful candidate will assist with maintenance data capture, reporting, scheduling, and compliance, helping to maintain plant efficiency, safety standards, and production reliability.
Key Responsibilities

Capture all maintenance activities on the Pragma Maintenance System.

Create and update work orders for maintenance personnel as required.

Record and monitor utilities usage including electricity, water, and diesel.

Develop and present reports on maintenance efficiency, energy utilization, and outstanding work.

Maintain SOPs, engineering documentation, and compliance records aligned with ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and RCL Foods Quality System.

Assist the Maintenance Planner, Senior Artisans, and Production Managers in scheduling downtime for preventive maintenance.

Provide training to engineering staff on Pragma system, quality procedures, and safety practices.

Lead NCAs, CARs, and audit compliance initiatives, ensuring closure and root cause analysis.

Conduct engineering toolbox talks and safety meetings, updating minutes and following up on action items.

Ensure timesheet data is captured accurately for all maintenance personnel.

Liaise with the SHEQ department on ongoing developments and compliance issues.
Minimum Requirements
-
Grade 12 or N3 / NCV Technical qualification.
-
1–2 years’ experience as a maintenance clerk in FMCG or manufacturing environment.

Basic computer literacy with knowledge of Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Working knowledge of Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).

Understanding of engineering machine components such as shafts, bearings, v-belts, drives, contactors, and conveyors.

Knowledge of food safety standards is advantageous.

Knowledge of document control, safety, and permit issuing.
