Position Overview
The Receiving Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all incoming stock and receiving operations within the Pedros Distribution Centre in Centurion. The role ensures that accurate receiving processes, stock integrity, and operational efficiency are consistently maintained.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, attention to detail, and analytical skills, ensuring compliance with company procedures, safety standards, and inventory accuracy.
Key Responsibilities
Receiving & Inventory Management

Oversee all incoming goods and ensure accurate receiving processes.

Verify delivery documentation, quantities, and product quality against purchase orders.

Supervise offloading, sorting, and placement of stock in designated areas.

Ensure received goods are correctly labeled and recorded in the inventory system.

Apply FIFO principles during receiving and storage.
-
Maintain accurate receiving logs, stock counts, and reconciliations.
Team Leadership & Supervision

Plan and allocate tasks to receiving staff for efficient workflow.
-
Supervise, train, and evaluate receiving staff to ensure high performance.
-
Foster a team-oriented culture, promoting collaboration and accountability.

Monitor staff adherence to safety and housekeeping standards.
Process Improvement & Operational Efficiency
-
Identify and implement process improvements to enhance accuracy and productivity.

Coordinate with purchasing and warehouse teams to resolve discrepancies or damages.

Monitor equipment (forklifts, pallet jacks, conveyors) to ensure safe and optimal use.

Support warehouse management in meeting productivity, accuracy, and compliance goals.
Health, Safety & Compliance

Enforce adherence to all health, safety, and PPE regulations in the receiving area.

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment.

Ensure equipment and operational areas comply with company and regulatory standards.
Reporting & Performance Metrics

Maintain comprehensive documentation of receiving operations.
-
Track supplier and delivery performance, escalating issues as needed.

Monitor key performance areas, including accuracy of receiving, inventory integrity, and equipment uptime.

Support audits and ensure adherence to Distribution Centre SOPs.
Minimum Requirements
-
Minimum 5 years’ experience in a Supervisory role, preferably in warehouse or distribution operations.

At least 3 years’ Customer Service experience.

Strong analytical, forecasting, and problem-solving skills.

Proven ability to drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Proficient in Microsoft Excel and warehouse management systems.
-
Experience with warehouse equipment, including forklifts, pallet jacks, conveyors, and barcode/RF systems.

Knowledge of inventory control, stock reconciliation, and warehouse safety standards.

Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
