About the Role

This exciting opportunity is for a Professional Nurse to join the MMC MOVE Team in Lejweleputswa, contributing to Voluntary Medical Male Circumcision (VMMC) services. The role focuses on delivering clinical support, patient care, and health education while ensuring compliance with infection prevention, quality assurance, and operational standards.

As part of a dedicated health team, you will work closely with surgeons, counselors, and other healthcare professionals to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality VMMC services for the community.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical assistance to the surgeon/cutter during VMMC procedures.

  • Deliver post-operative and follow-up care to circumcised patients.

  • Ensure Quality Assurance (QA) and Infection Prevention & Control (IPC) at the VMMC site.

  • Assist in stock procurement, storage, and control for the VMMC unit.

  • Prepare theatre and supplies for circumcision procedures.

  • Conduct health talks to educate potential clients on MMC as requested.

  • Maintain good waste segregation and disposal practices.

  • Mentor counselors on providing high-quality HIV Testing Services (HTS) counselling to VMMC clients.

  • Support Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) assessments and development of CQI plans.

  • Maintain accurate client records and documentation.

  • Support overall coordination of clinic activities to ensure seamless operations.


Minimum Requirements

  • Diploma in General, Community, and Midwifery Nursing.

  • SANC Registration as a Professional Nurse.

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Registered Nurse in an NGO, community clinic, or hospital environment.

  • Ability to work effectively in community-based healthcare settings.


Desirable Qualifications & Experience

  • HIV/AIDS Management Course or related certifications.

  • 3 years’ experience as a Registered Nurse in community health or hospital settings.

  • Strong knowledge of VMMC procedures, infection control, and patient care protocols.

  • Experience in mentoring and supervising clinical staff is advantageous.
