Position Overview

The General Assistant is responsible for supporting the smooth operation of the business unit by performing a variety of general assistance duties. The role requires flexibility, a customer-focused mindset, and adherence to BUCO’s company policies and procedures.

The ideal candidate will have strong operational awareness, good product knowledge, and a willingness to assist in multiple areas of the business unit.


Key Responsibilities

Customer Service & Operations Support

  • Provide customers with their orders efficiently and accurately.

  • Assist with loading and offloading of vehicles.

  • Pack yard stock items for delivery or storage.

  • Perform wash bay activities and assist with vehicle cleaning and safekeeping.

  • Provide assistance to customers and suppliers in a professional manner.

General Duties & Company Values

Minimum Requirements

  • Matric / Grade 12 certificate.

  • Basic product knowledge related to building materials or retail.

  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, loading, and moving stock.

  • Strong customer service orientation.

  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.

  • Reliability, punctuality, and professionalism.
