Position Overview
The Cashier is responsible for providing exceptional customer service at the point of sale, ensuring efficient and accurate till operations, and contributing to the overall customer experience. This role is crucial in maximising sales opportunities, maintaining security of cash handling, and upholding company values.
The ideal candidate will be polite, helpful, and customer-focused, with the ability to handle retail transactions accurately and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities

Greet customers professionally and courteously.

Ring up purchases and accept various forms of payment accurately.

Issue correct receipts and ensure till procedures are followed.

Balance the till at the end of shifts to maintain financial accuracy.

Promote positive public relations and uphold TimberCity’s professional image.

Provide assistance and advice to customers regarding products and services.

Uphold and promote company values, culture, and safety standards.
Minimum Requirements

Matric / Grade 12 certificate.

Proficient in English (verbal and written).

Ability to work retail hours, including weekends and public holidays.

Helpful, polite, and customer-oriented attitude.

Basic computer literacy for point-of-sale systems.
-
Product knowledge in building materials is an advantage.

2–3 years’ experience as a cashier or in retail sales is preferred.
