Position Overview

The Admin Clerk role is responsible for performing general administration, creditors, HR administration, and relief cashier and reception duties as required. The position supports the Store Accountant, HR, and management teams, ensuring efficient workflow, accurate record-keeping, and timely reporting.

The ideal candidate will have strong administrative skills, attention to detail, and experience in retail or corporate office environments, while upholding TimberCity’s company values and culture.


Key Responsibilities

Reception and Cashier Relief

  • Provide relief receptionist and cashier duties in a professional and courteous manner when required.

Administration and Record-Keeping

  • Ensure accurate and timely filing of customer invoices and debtor accounts.

  • Assist with cycle counting and inventory auditing procedures.

  • Organize, consolidate, and post month-end statements and compile data in record books.

  • Maintain accurate records of business transactions, office activities, and clerical documentation.

  • Capture invoices, GRNs, and CVRs accurately, ensuring proper matching of delivery notes and invoices.

  • Process CVRs for incorrect quantities, price differences, or damaged goods.

  • Reconcile creditors against supplier statements and investigate variances efficiently.

  • Resolve supplier queries professionally and accurately.

  • Maintain filing of unpaid matched GRNs, delivery notes, orders, and buy-out details.

HR and Skills Development Administration

  • Maintain accurate personnel files and records, including leave forms and disciplinary actions.

  • Assist with recruitment administration and job advertising as required.

  • Support skills development and employment equity reporting in collaboration with the Store Accountant.

  • Ensure timely submission of onboarding documents for new employees.


Minimum Requirements

  • Matric / Grade 12 certificate.

  • Business Management N4–N6 qualification.

  • Human Resources N4–N6 qualification.

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience performing general administration duties.

  • Strong computer literacy and office software proficiency.

  • Excellent organisational and multitasking abilities.

  • Ability to work under pressure and maintain accuracy and attention to detail.
