Position Overview
The Legal Advisor at TWK Agri, Piet Retief will provide expert legal guidance, manage litigation processes, and ensure compliance across the company’s operations. This role is essential for risk mitigation, contract management, debt recovery, and corporate legal strategy, interfacing with internal teams, external law firms, and debtors.
Minimum Requirements
Essential:
-
Matric / Grade 12 certificate.
-
Degree in LLB, Law, or relevant legal field.
-
Professional registration with the relevant legal body.
-
3–5 years post-admission experience in a legal or financial management environment.

Knowledge of Credit Acts, civil legal procedures, and relevant laws.
-
Strong literacy, numeracy, and legal research skills.
-
Valid Code 08 driver’s license and willingness to travel.
Advantageous:

Experience with Swordfish Debt Collection Software.
-
Proven track record in customer care and debt recovery.
Key Responsibilities
-
Provide legal advice and support to management and staff on a full spectrum of corporate and financial matters.

Draft, vet, and manage contracts, agreements, and legal documents.

Liaise with external law firms, internal stakeholders, and debtors to resolve disputes.

Manage litigation processes, including High Court and Magistrate Court work, briefing Advocates and Attorneys.

Oversee internal collection processes, negotiate settlements, and arrange Acknowledgment of Debt (AOD) agreements.

Monitor and mitigate legal and compliance risks.

Maintain accurate legal documentation, reports, and records.
-
Support departmental growth and team engagement initiatives.

Manage budget targets and administrative processes related to legal operations.
