Position Overview
The General Worker plays a vital role in warehouse operations, including binning, picking, replenishment, scanner control, and stock management. This position ensures that customer orders are processed accurately, inventory is maintained efficiently, and warehouse operations run smoothly to maximize customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
Binning / Receiving

Perform binning of incoming merchandise and replenish inventory from bulk to pick locations according to SOPs.

Allocate new products with correct bin location numbers in the warehouse.

Update bins and report stock allocations to supervisors.

Assist in inventory replenishment functions.

Ensure all incoming goods are received and checked per company standards.
Picking
-
Pick customer and branch orders accurately and timely to meet order cut-off times.

Use bulk locations only when stock is depleted or during bulk orders, ensuring pack sizes are preserved.

Follow all reasonable and lawful instructions from supervisors.

Adhere to operational procedures to enhance customer satisfaction.

Assist in stock take procedures and maintain cleanliness in the warehouse.

Double-check stock to maintain inventory accuracy and prevent loss.

Consistently achieve standard operational targets.
Scanner Control
-
Issue scanners to operators daily and book out scanners in the electronic system.

Receive scanners back, inspect for damage, and update the system.

Report any damage to the supervisor.

Maintain the daily scanner issue spreadsheet accurately.
Qualifications and Skills

Matric / Grade 12 certificate is essential.

Basic computer literacy.

Honest, reliable, and demonstrates integrity.

Strong communication skills.

Ability to work under pressure and adapt to operational demands.

Physically fit for manual warehouse tasks.
