This Fixed Term Store Cleaner position at Hobart Grove is ideal for individuals passionate about maintaining cleanliness and hygiene in a retail environment while supporting the store’s operational excellence.
Position Overview
The Store Cleaner ensures the store meets Dis-Chem’s high hygiene and cleanliness standards. The role involves cleaning the shop floor, dispensary, stock room, admin office, canteen, and other communal areas. This position is critical in creating a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for both customers and staff.
Minimum Requirements
Essential:

Grade 12 / Matric qualification.

Minimum of 6 months’ cleaning experience.

Sound command of the English language.

Basic customer service skills.

Additional local language proficiency is advantageous.

Willing and able to work retail hours, weekends, and public holidays.
Advantageous:

Previous retail store cleaning experience.
-
Bilingual skills for enhanced customer interaction.
Key Responsibilities
-
Maintain a high standard of hygiene and cleanliness throughout the store before opening hours.

Develop and follow daily cleaning routines to ensure all areas are clean and presentable.

Keep canteen and restrooms stocked and hygienic at all times.

Clean floors, stock rooms, dispensary, admin offices, and communal areas using the appropriate cleaning products and equipment.

Ensure wet floor signs are used for safety during floor cleaning.

Be available throughout operational hours to address cleaning requirements as needed.

Provide friendly, professional, and helpful assistance to customers when required.

Perform duties in accordance with Health and Safety Regulations.
