As part of their ongoing commitment to operational excellence, Faircape Health is seeking a Temporary Laundry Coordinator to oversee daily linen operations during a maternity cover period.
Role Overview
The Laundry Coordinator will take responsibility for the linen department’s daily operations, ensuring strict adherence to hygiene and quality standards. This role is crucial in supporting the smooth running of healthcare facilities, maintaining adequate linen supply, and coordinating with both internal staff and external service providers.
Preference will be given to candidates based in or near Somerset West to ensure ease of travel.
Key Responsibilities

Supervise daily linen operations and ensure compliance with healthcare operational standards.

Maintain cleanliness, hygiene, and functionality of the linen room.

Oversee the issuing of linen and delivery of carts to designated areas.

Ensure proper handling and safe storage of both clean and soiled linen.

Coordinate linen pickup and drop-off with external service providers.

Identify damaged linen and follow condemnation procedures.

Inspect laundered items to confirm quality compliance.

Conduct weekly stock takes and monitor inventory levels.

Reconcile laundry service invoices.

Submit daily productivity and operational reports.

Report concerns promptly to ensure quick resolution.

Recommend process improvements to the Housekeeping Supervisor.

Carry out additional duties assigned by the supervisor.
Entry Requirements

Education: Grade 12 (Matric).
-
Experience: Minimum of 12 months in a similar role (healthcare laundry operations advantageous).

Working Hours and Compensation

Monday to Friday: 07h00 to 17h00.

Every alternate Saturday: 07h00 to 12h00.

Rostered to work on public holidays when required.

Competitive salary package offered.

Public holidays remunerated at time-and-a-half (not included in basic salary).

Quarterly performance-based bonuses (payable after probation).
