Role Overview
The Cashier will be responsible for managing customer transactions at the point of sale, maintaining cash flow accuracy, and delivering a professional shopping experience. You will handle payments, process refunds, and manage loyalty programs while adhering strictly to Dis-Chem policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities

Process customer transactions accurately and efficiently on the Dis-Chem operating system.

Ensure all cash handling is secure and follow all SOPs regarding till operations.

Provide a professional, courteous, and friendly service to all customers.

Manage returns, exchanges, and loyalty programs, including partner accelerator programs.

Report customer complaints, compliments, and suspicious activity to store management.

Maintain cash drawer accuracy and reconcile daily takings.

Follow all security and safety protocols for handling money, stock, and store operations.

Ensure compliance with all Dis-Chem 5-star communication and customer service principles.

Maintain high levels of attention to detail, accuracy, and accountability.
Minimum Requirements

Grade 12 / Matric

Minimum 6 months’ experience in cashier or till operations

Computer literate (MS Office)
-
Strong numerical skills
-
Proficient in English (written and oral)

Basic customer service knowledge

Willingness to work retail hours
Advantageous:

Knowledge of a third additional language
