DSV is a global leader in transport and logistics, operating in over 90 countries with close to 160,000 colleagues. The Cape Town headquarters is seeking a Business Development Manager to drive new business growth in Air and Sea freight, strengthen client relationships, and achieve revenue targets.
This role is ideal for candidates with a strong sales mindset, a “hunter” mentality, and a background in freight forwarding, logistics, or supply chain management.
Role Overview
The Business Development Manager will be responsible for securing new business opportunities, managing a sustainable sales pipeline, and implementing strategic account management. The role requires consultative selling, relationship building, and proactive problem-solving to ensure DSV meets and exceeds sales targets.
Key Responsibilities

Manage and grow a sustainable sales pipeline in Air, Sea, and Road freight services.

Onboard and implement new business clients.

Build strategic relationships at multiple levels within client organizations.

Conduct consultative selling to strengthen DSV’s position from a supply chain perspective.

Manage accounts and productivity using DSV’s Dynamics CRM system.

Meet weekly, monthly, and quarterly sales and call targets.

Prepare and deliver presentations to prospective and existing clients.

Coordinate with internal operations and staff to ensure seamless service delivery.

Demonstrate solution-driven approaches to client challenges.
Minimum Requirements
-
Minimum 1 year sales experience in freight forwarding, logistics, or supply chain

Understanding of Air, Ocean, and Road transportation, forwarding, and customs clearance
-
Own vehicle and valid driver’s license
-
Proficient in MS Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook

CRM system knowledge (Microsoft Dynamics CRM advantageous)
