Key Responsibilities
As a Finance Officer, you will play a crucial role in providing comprehensive financial management services. Your duties will include:
- Month-end Reporting: Preparing and compiling month-end reports, including performing reconciliations of various general ledger accounts and ensuring the accuracy of all financial data.
- Bank Reconciliation: Supervising bank reconciliations and petty cash, and investigating any discrepancies to ensure the integrity of financial records.
- General Journals: Compiling and processing general journals to correct misallocations and ensure accounts are cleared before month-end.
- Account Management: Investigating theft and losses, and performing all accounts payable and receivable activities.
- Audit Support: Preparing all necessary documents for audit requests and queries.
Requirements
- Education: A National Diploma or Degree in Accounting or an equivalent qualification is required.
- Experience: A minimum of two years of experience in the field of financial management is essential.
- Skills & Knowledge:
- Solid knowledge of the Public Finance Management Act (PMFA) and Treasury Regulations.
- Understanding of Generally Accepted Practice (GAAP).
- Proficiency in computer literacy, including MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Knowledge of ACCPAC is a bonus.
- Strong planning, organizing, and report writing skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and communication skills.
- A valid driver’s license is a must.
