Role Overview
Adendorff Machinery Mart is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Counter Sales Consultant to join its successful Edenvale branch. This role is perfect for someone with a passion for sales in the tools, machinery, and hardware industry. The ideal candidate will be confident, reliable, honest, and able to function effectively as part of a team.
The Counter Sales role involves direct interaction with customers, providing expert advice on products, processing sales, maintaining stock levels, and ensuring branch operations run smoothly. Applicants with previous experience in the automotive, engineering, DIY, or retail hardware environment will be given preference, as this knowledge provides a solid foundation for assisting customers with their technical needs.
Key Responsibilities

Driving sales through excellent customer service and product knowledge

Assisting customers in selecting the right tools and machinery for their needs

Maintaining accurate stock level control and assisting with inventory management

Handling branch administrative and managerial duties as required

Following company procedures and ensuring compliance with branch operational standards

Promoting a positive brand image through professional conduct and service delivery

Supporting the team in reaching branch growth targets and sales objectives

Maintaining housekeeping standards to ensure the branch environment is professional and welcoming

Continuously developing personal product knowledge and keeping up with new arrivals and technologies
Qualifications and Skills

Senior Certificate (Matric) is a minimum requirement

Previous experience in sales within the tools, hardware, engineering, or DIY sectors is highly advantageous

Technical knowledge in machinery, spares, or hardware is a strong benefit

Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with customers

Ability to work as part of a team while taking initiative when needed

Reliability, honesty, and a strong sense of accountability

Administrative skills to handle branch paperwork and documentation
Working Hours and Conditions

Monday to Friday: 08:00 – 17:00
