Role Overview
The Food Services Assistant X3 role in Pietermaritzburg is a fixed-term contract opportunity that requires individuals with a passion for hospitality and a dedication to high service standards. This position plays a vital role in food preparation, front-of-house support, and ensuring compliance with all Health & Safety and Food Safety regulations.
Successful candidates will work closely with the catering and hospitality teams, supporting both back-of-house and front-of-house operations. Key Responsibilities
As a Food Services Assistant, your responsibilities will include:

Performing a variety of tasks related to food production and preparation

Assisting with front-of-house services, ensuring a professional and welcoming experience for clients and customers

Providing general support across the kitchen and service areas as required

Maintaining compliance with Health & Safety and Food Safety regulations, including hygiene standards

Supporting senior staff with the smooth execution of daily operations

Assisting in stock management and ensuring that service areas are fully equipped and replenished

Upholding the highest standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and customer service in all duties
Qualifications and Experience
To qualify for this role, candidates must meet the following requirements:

Matric certificate is essential

Working experience in the hospitality industry is essential

Prior customer service experience will be advantageous

A qualification in Food and Beverage Services or Culinary Arts would be an added advantage
