Role Overview
The Teller position at Fidelity’s Mthatha branch is a permanent role reporting directly to the Branch Manager. The primary responsibility of this role is to count and verify clients’ money, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with strict security protocols.
As a Teller, you will be expected to work under pressure, manage high volumes of cash, and adhere to the highest standards of honesty and professionalism. This role is ideal for candidates with cashier or money-handling experience who are detail-oriented, reliable, and eager to build a career in the financial and security services sector.
Key Responsibilities
The Teller’s duties will include but are not limited to the following:

Cash Processing: Ensuring that all cash processing procedures are followed accurately and consistently.

Money Verification: Counting and verifying large sums of money to ensure correctness.

Balancing and Reconciliation: Performing balancing and reconciling tasks to confirm that records match physical cash counts.

Use of Equipment: Operating money-counting machines and related technology to handle cash efficiently.

ATM Preparation: Packing and preparing cash for ATMs according to security and operational requirements.

Compliance: Adhering to Fidelity’s strict internal policies, security standards, and financial protocols.

Support: Assisting colleagues and supporting the branch’s operational objectives when required.
Minimum Requirements
To be considered for the Teller position, candidates must meet the following requirements:

Grade 12 or equivalent qualification.

At least 2 years’ cashier or money-handling experience.
-
Computer literacy is compulsory.
-
Clear criminal record.
-
Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
