The Consumable Clerk role at the Mthatha branch is part of Fidelity Cash Solutions, playing a vital function in inventory management, stock accuracy, and clerical support to ensure the branch runs smoothly.
Role Overview
The Consumable Clerk will be based in Mthatha and report directly to the Branch Manager. This is a permanent position that requires an energetic, detail-oriented, and organised individual who can handle administrative and inventory responsibilities with precision.
The main purpose of the role is to track inventory, manage consumables, and provide clerical and administrative support to ensure that operations at the Mthatha branch remain efficient. The role will involve stock control, document management, communication with internal and external stakeholders, and providing assistance to senior staff when required.

Key Responsibilities
The Consumable Clerk will be responsible for:

Inventory Management: Conducting stock take activities including receiving, unpacking, and sorting consumables.

Accuracy Checks: Checking all consignments for correctness before distribution.

Clerical Duties: Providing general clerical and administrative support, including filing, archiving, and document management.

Communication: Answering telephones, taking messages, and handling both internal and external enquiries in a professional manner.

Administrative Support: Assisting the Senior Clerk with day-to-day tasks as required.

Reporting and Deadlines: Meeting daily, weekly, and monthly reporting requirements.

Customer and Team Support: Ensuring customer-focused service delivery and working closely with team members to maintain operational excellence.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must meet the following minimum criteria to be considered for the Consumable Clerk position:

Grade 12 or equivalent qualification.

At least 1 year’s experience in receiving, dispatch, or a similar stock management role.

Computer literacy is compulsory (Microsoft Office proficiency preferred).

Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal).

Clear criminal record and ability to pass background checks.

Must be physically fit to handle stock-related tasks.

Experience in administration will be advantageous.

Ability to work under pressure and multitask effectively.

Willingness to work extra hours when required.

Having own reliable transport will be considered an advantage.
