ROLE OVERVIEW

Dis-Chem Pharmacies requires the services of a reputable Health Consultant specialising in Vitamins and Supplements for the new Parelberg store in Paarl.

The successful candidate will promote and sell Dis-Chem Health Focus products while ensuring exceptional customer care and achieving sales targets.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Essential:

Grade 12 / Matric.
Minimum 6 months’ sales experience in a vitamins/health environment.
Strong command of the English language.
Computer literate (MS Office).
Sound numerical ability.
Willing and able to work retail hours.

Advantageous:

Qualification in BSc Biomedicine, BSc Biotechnology, or relevant Health Focus field.
Previous sales experience in a retail environment.
Industry experience in vitamins, supplements, or health foods.
Fluency in a second language commonly spoken in the area.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Assist and advise customers, providing excellent customer service.
Support store operations by assisting with back shopping when required.
Maintain fully stocked and well-presented merchandise displays.
Report price discrepancies to management promptly.
Adhere to store layouts and display guidelines in the Health Department.
Implement and maintain promotional displays and merchandising.
Achieve monthly sales, team, brand, and vendor targets.
Stay updated on new products and health trends.
Follow departmental administrative processes (returns, stock control, monitoring).

COMPETENCIES REQUIRED

Essential:

Strong promotions and personal selling ability.
Excellent customer service skills.
Command of English (written and verbal).
Ability to analyse basic reports.
Team player with good time management.
Trustworthy and honest.

Advantageous:

Strong product knowledge and stock control ability.
Bilingual proficiency.

SPECIAL CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

Willing and able to work retail hours.
Physically fit for walking, standing, climbing, kneeling, bending, lifting, and moving stock.
Valid driver’s license and reliable transport.
Must be a South African citizen.
Clear credit and criminal record required.
