ROLE OVERVIEW

The Customer Consultant at the Parelberg store in Paarl is responsible for interacting directly with customers, addressing inquiries about products and services, and resolving complaints or concerns. The role ensures smooth operation of the customer service desk, accurate reporting, and support for promotional and benefits programmes.

This entry-level position is ideal for candidates with strong communication skills, administrative experience, and a passion for helping customers.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Essential:

Grade 12 / Matric (minimum 60% in English, Afrikaans, and Maths Literacy).
At least 1-year experience in administration, customer service, or public relations.
Strong communication and customer interaction skills.
Computer literate – MS Office.
Willing and able to work retail hours.

Advantageous:

Administration, Customer Service, or Public Relations qualification.
Third additional language.
SAP experience.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Ensure accurate data capturing and completion of all required documentation.
Check card balances, reports, and statements for customers.
Manage daily and weekly inventory of promotional items, magazines, travel kits, baby bags, and other materials.
Capture transactions accurately in TRMS, reporting accordingly.
Monitor stock control, shrinkage, and checkpoint reversals on statements.
Ensure manual points allocation is accurately reflected to the Admin Manager.
Facilitate effective internal communication within customer service and benefits programme teams.
Escalate compliments, complaints, and product sourcing issues to Senior or Regional Customer Consultants.
Maintain professional external communication with customers via email, in-person, or other platforms.
Ensure visibility of the Benefits Programme signage and other promotional material.
Coordinate and manage in-store events and promotional campaigns.
Provide training on the Benefits Programme to staff and ensure compliance.
Adhere to all Dis-Chem policies, SOPs, and health and safety regulations.

South African citizen with clear credit and criminal records.
