ABOUT THE ROLE
AFGRI Equipment is seeking a skilled and reliable Technician to join our Ceres branch in the Western Cape. The successful candidate will be responsible for the repair, maintenance, and servicing of agricultural and related equipment, ensuring optimal performance and customer satisfaction.
This role requires strong technical expertise, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. As a Technician, you will play a vital role in keeping farming operations running smoothly by delivering top-quality maintenance solutions.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform repairs and maintenance on tractors, harvesters, and other agricultural equipment.
- Conduct thorough fault diagnosis to identify problems and implement effective solutions.
- Ensure all work is carried out according to manufacturer standards and company guidelines.
- Update and maintain accurate job cards for all repair and service activities.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with customers, addressing queries and resolving complaints promptly.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized workshop environment.
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations, including the correct use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Provide excellent customer service while upholding company values and brand reputation.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education
- N2 Qualified Technician certificate is essential.
Experience
- Minimum of 3 years’ relevant experience, including training as an Apprentice.
TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE & COMPETENCIES
- Valid driver’s license.
- Strong product knowledge in the repair and maintenance of tractors and agricultural equipment.
- Proficient in fault-finding, repair techniques, and preventative maintenance.
- Good time management and organisational skills.
- Clear and professional communication abilities.
