ABOUT THE ROLE

Voltex (Pty) Ltd is actively seeking a qualified and motivated Internal Sales Representative to join the Kempton Park branch. Reporting directly to the Branch Manager, this role is integral in achieving key customer requisition and revenue growth targets through efficient internal sales operations. The successful candidate will also support cash sales operations at the tills when necessary, demonstrating versatility and attention to detail.

This role is designed for a sales professional with a strong background in electrical products, inventory management, and customer service, who thrives in a dynamic and target-driven environment.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Actively engage and sell the company’s electrical products to walk-in customers over the counter with exceptional service and product knowledge.
  • Manage and control all stock movements, including daily stock issuance in partnership with the Procurement Manager to ensure accurate inventory levels.
  • Coordinate with the dispatch team to guarantee timely deliveries that meet customer expectations and service standards.
  • Oversee cash-on-delivery (COD) invoices and collect outstanding payments in accordance with company procedures.
  • Efficiently handle and process customer orders telephonically, ensuring accuracy in capturing customer details and order specifications.
  • Generate accurate invoices and manage quotes on the CRM system to streamline sales operations.
  • Ensure all customer orders include complete and precise information such as order numbers, delivery addresses, contact details, and any special instructions.
  • Provide prompt resolution of customer queries and concerns to maintain high customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure no stock leaves the premises without proper documentation and authorization to mitigate losses.
  • Take initiative to improve processes and customer service while adhering to company policies and procedures.
  • Participate actively in weekly and monthly sales meetings to discuss performance, share insights, and align with business goals.
  • Assist with regular stocktaking to maintain inventory accuracy and support stock control.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education

  • Valid Grade 12 certificate (Matric) is mandatory.
  • N6 Certificate in Electrical Engineering is advantageous.

Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in electrical sales is essential.
  • At least 2 years’ experience in management or key accounts to demonstrate leadership and client management skills.

Skills and Knowledge

  • Strong knowledge of electrical products and industry standards.
  • Proven ability to manage stock and inventory processes effectively.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications, with preference for candidates skilled in K8 systems.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to engage customers and internal teams.
  • A valid driver’s licence is a plus but not mandatory.
