ABOUT THE ROLE
Voltex (Pty) Ltd is seeking a competent and driven Internal Sales Representative to join the Alberton branch. Reporting directly to the Branch Manager, you will play a pivotal role in driving customer requisition and revenue growth through effective internal sales management. This role demands a high level of customer interaction, inventory management, and sales process oversight to ensure exceptional service delivery and operational efficiency.
This opportunity is perfect for candidates with a strong background in electrical sales and stock control who thrive in fast-paced, customer-facing environments. You will also occasionally support cash sales operations at the tills, requiring accuracy and adherence to company policies.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Engage walk-in customers by selling the company’s electrical products over the counter with professionalism and product knowledge.
- Manage and control stock movement by coordinating daily stock issuance in collaboration with the Procurement Manager to maintain optimal inventory levels.
- Liaise with the dispatch team to ensure timely deliveries that meet customer expectations, helping maintain strong customer relationships.
- Manage cash-on-delivery (COD) invoices and effectively collect outstanding payments, ensuring the accuracy of financial transactions.
- Handle and process customer orders received telephonically, ensuring data accuracy and timely order fulfillment.
- Create accurate invoices and quotes using the company CRM system, ensuring all relevant customer information such as order numbers, delivery addresses, and special arrangements are captured.
- Resolve any customer queries or concerns promptly and professionally to enhance customer satisfaction.
- Ensure all stock leaving the company is properly documented and compliant with company procedures to mitigate stock losses.
- Take initiative within the framework of company policies and procedures to improve sales processes and customer service.
- Attend and actively participate in weekly and monthly sales meetings to align with business objectives and share insights.
- Assist with regular stocktaking to maintain accurate inventory records and support stock control efforts.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education
- Valid Grade 12 certificate (Matric) is essential.
- N6 Certificate in Electrical Engineering is a distinct advantage.
Experience
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in electrical sales is mandatory.
- At least 2 years’ experience in a Management or Key Accounts role, demonstrating leadership and client relationship skills.
Skills and Knowledge
- Strong knowledge of electrical products and industry standards.
- Proven ability to manage stock and inventory processes efficiently.
- Proficiency in MS Office packages, with preference given to candidates experienced in K8 systems.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to handle customer interaction effectively.
- Valid driver’s licence is advantageous but not essential.
