About the Role
As a Warehouse Operator responsible for Loose Case and Layer picking, you will ensure accurate order fulfillment by selecting, packing, and verifying products based on detailed picking instructions. Your role supports smooth warehouse operations, maintaining quality and safety standards to meet customer expectations consistently.
Key Responsibilities
Efficient Picking and Packing
- Conduct loose case and layer picking accurately following picking instructions.
- Pack items securely using correct materials and labels, maintaining product integrity.
- Maximise pallet stability during picking, considering transit and delivery conditions.
- Count and verify picked items to ensure order completeness.
Inventory Coordination and Reporting
- Report out-of-stock or short-picked items promptly.
- Collaborate with inventory control to maintain accurate stock records and flag discrepancies.
- Communicate concerns about damaged or mislabeled goods to supervisors.
Safety and Compliance
- Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and safety guidelines.
- Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
- Maintain a clean, organised work area to promote efficiency and reduce errors.
- Contribute actively to a safe and compliant work environment.
Continuous Learning and Teamwork
- Participate in training programs to improve picking skills and stay updated on warehouse protocols.
- Work collaboratively within a diverse team, embodying the HO HOLA culture.
- Support team goals and contribute positively to overall warehouse performance.
Qualifications and Experience
- Grade 12 (Matric) certificate or equivalent.
- 1-3 years’ proven experience in a similar warehouse picking role, preferably in FMCG retail.
- Valid Electric Pallet Jack License.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well in a team.
- Fluent English communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Attention to detail and accuracy under fast-paced conditions.
