About the Role
As a Warehouse Operator: Bulk, your primary responsibility is to offload inbound stock, record product age, and ensure correct storage. You will be key to replenishing pick lines, implementing stock rotation to maintain freshness, inspecting product quality, and ensuring equipment safety standards. Your role contributes directly to the smooth and efficient functioning of the warehouse.
Key Responsibilities
Inbound Product Handling
- Offload all incoming products from inbound vehicles safely and efficiently.
- Record the age of received items for proper inventory management and compliance.
- Inspect product quality and packaging upon arrival.
- Generate and place product labels on incoming pallets.
Storage and Stock Management
- Store and organise inbound products in designated storage areas.
- Replenish pick lines continuously to support order fulfilment.
- Implement stock rotation to prevent expiration and obsolescence.
Equipment and Safety
- Inspect warehouse equipment regularly to ensure proper functioning.
- Maintain a safe working environment by adhering to safety guidelines and using PPE.
- Communicate any product, packaging, or equipment issues to your Controller.
Team Contribution
- Work collaboratively within a fast-paced, dynamic team.
- Support overall team goals and contribute to operational efficiency.
Qualifications and Experience
- Grade 12 (Matric) or equivalent qualification.
- 1–3 years’ proven experience in a similar warehouse role, preferably within FMCG retail.
- Valid Electric Pallet Jack and Forklift licenses.
- Strong interpersonal skills aligned with Econo Foods’ HO HOLA culture.
- Excellent communication skills in English (written and verbal).
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
- High accuracy and attention to detail.
