Birkenstock Sandton, part of the Ares Holdings Group, is seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Store Manager to lead their retail operations. As the leader of the store team, you will be responsible for ensuring operational excellence, achieving sales targets, and upholding Birkenstock’s vision, purpose, and values.
Key Responsibilities
Sales Leadership
- Drive store performance by setting daily sales targets for the team and tracking results throughout the day.
- Maximise sales through upselling, cross-selling, and building strong customer relationships.
- Grow the store’s rewards programme database and actively promote loyalty benefits.
- Process customer orders within one working day to ensure service excellence.
- Build relationships with podiatrists, fitness centres, and community groups to generate sales opportunities.
Team Management
- Lead, mentor, and motivate the store team to deliver exceptional customer service.
- Conduct daily team meetings to communicate goals and allocate tasks.
- Manage recruitment, induction, and ongoing training for staff, including sales, customer service, and loss prevention training.
- Provide monthly feedback and performance appraisals for all team members.
- Create efficient staff rosters based on customer traffic and business needs.
Inventory & Stock Control
- Maintain accurate inventory records and minimise shrinkage.
- Conduct quarterly stock counts and execute markdowns when required.
- Process deliveries promptly, ensuring all products are tagged, priced, and displayed correctly.
- Monitor top-selling products to ensure quick replenishment and optimal stock levels.
- Analyse sales and inventory reports to guide merchandising and ordering decisions.
Operational Excellence
- Maintain store visual merchandising standards in line with Birkenstock brand guidelines.
- Ensure the store is clean, well-organised, and fully operational at all times.
- Manage cash-ups, banking, and month-end reporting.
- Oversee store expenses and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 or equivalent qualification.
- At least 2 years’ experience in a retail management role.
- Strong sales ability and customer service skills.
- Excellent leadership, organisational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work retail shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
- Valid driver’s licence (own vehicle advantageous).
