Adendorff Machinery Mart is looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Retail Shop Assistant to join the team at our Alberton branch. This is a great opportunity for someone with a passion for sales, customer service, and the tools and machinery industry, who is eager to learn and grow within a reputable company.
About the Role
This role is ideal for a young, dynamic individual with a drive to succeed in a retail environment. You will be involved in sales, merchandising, stock control, customer service, and general store operations. Your goal will be to provide excellent service, maintain well-organized displays, and support the branch in achieving sales targets.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional customer service and sales support
- Assist customers with product knowledge, quotations, and purchases
- Maintain store displays and merchandising standards
- Conduct stock taking and ensure accurate stock control
- Assist with loading and unloading of stock, including lifting heavy tools/machinery
- Follow all retail branch procedures and ensure a clean, organized store
Requirements
- Matric / Senior Certificate (essential)
- Experience in retail sales, merchandising, and customer service preferred
- Technical knowledge of DIY tools or hardware (advantageous)
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Honest, reliable, and able to work well in a team
- Physically capable of lifting heavy tools and machinery
- Willingness to work the following hours:
- Monday – Friday: 08:00 to 17:00
- Saturday: 08:00 to 13:00
