Role Overview
The Storeman & Warehouse Manager will oversee all daily warehouse operations, ensuring smooth workflow, organization, and stock control. This role is ideal for candidates with experience in technical or industrial warehouses, especially those familiar with diamond core drilling consumables. The position requires leadership skills to guide warehouse staff and maintain compliance with safety and company standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily warehouse operations and workflow to ensure efficiency.
- Maintain cleanliness, orderliness, and organization of the warehouse.
- Receive, inspect, and document incoming stock shipments.
- Issue, pack, and dispatch stock to clients and various sites.
- Conduct regular stock takes and cycle counts to ensure inventory accuracy.
- Monitor stock levels and coordinate with procurement for replenishment.
- Manage inventory records using ERP or stock management software.
- Coordinate shipments with freight providers and ensure timely delivery.
- Ensure warehouse complies with all safety protocols and company policies.
- Supervise and guide warehouse staff as required.
- Identify and implement improvements to warehouse processes and workflows.
Candidate Profile
Requirements
- 3 to 5 years’ experience in a similar warehouse or storeman role, preferably within mining, industrial, or drilling environments.
- Proficient in ERP or inventory management software.
- Knowledge of drilling consumables is advantageous.
- Valid driver’s license is required; forklift license is a plus.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Matric (Grade 12) is preferred; supply chain qualifications are a plus.
- Physically fit, hands-on, reliable, self-motivated, and detail-oriented.
