Empact Group is looking for an organised and motivated Storekeeper to oversee stock control, supplier coordination, and storeroom operations within their Food Solutions division in Cape Town. If you have logistics experience and strong administrative skills, this role is ideal for you.
Minimum Requirements
- Matric (Grade 12)
- At least 2 years’ experience in a logistics environment
- Previous exposure to the hospitality sector is advantageous
Key Competencies
- Strong computer literacy and numerical skills
- Excellent planning, time management, and organisational abilities
- Ability to work independently and under pressure
- Effective communication and supervisory skills
Key Responsibilities
- Place orders and liaise with suppliers under manager approval
- Verify accuracy of pricing and quantities on orders/invoices
- Issue stock (including groceries and consumables) to internal departments
- Weigh and distribute food items during meal services
- Manage stock levels according to minimum/maximum thresholds
- Assist with weekly and monthly stock counts
- Maintain HSE (Health, Safety & Environment) records accurately
- Supervise the storage area, including fridge/freezer cleanliness, security, and access
- Check received stock for quality, proper labelling, and documentation
- Ensure stock is stored appropriately after each service
- Conduct quality checks on food items and maintain strict controls
- Coordinate with Catering Manager and Supervisors for effective service delivery
