Empact Group is seeking a dedicated and hardworking General Assistant to join the Food Solutions team at our Tembisa site. This position is ideal for individuals who are passionate about cleanliness, food service, and working as part of a team that delivers excellent catering services in a fast-paced environment.
Minimum Requirements
- Matric (Grade 12) or equivalent
- Prior experience in a cleaning or food service role (preferred but not required)
- Ability to read, write, and follow instructions
- Physically fit to perform cleaning and support duties
- Willingness to learn and grow in a team-oriented environment

Key Responsibilities
- Assist in food preparation under the direction of the catering supervisor or cook
- Serve meals and beverages to customers and staff when required
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen areas, dining rooms, and sculleries
- Wash dishes, pots, pans, and kitchen utensils using appropriate methods
- Dispose of kitchen waste properly and according to food safety standards
- Sweep, mop, and sanitize kitchen and dining areas regularly
- Ensure that cleaning equipment and chemicals are used safely and stored correctly
- Support catering staff with general tasks to ensure smooth operations
- Comply with health and safety procedures and hygiene regulations at all times
