Key Responsibilities of the Role
As a Shop Assistant/Cashier at Ackermans, you will play a crucial role in ensuring a pleasant and seamless customer experience. Your core responsibilities include:
- Customer Engagement and Assistance
Helping customers find the products they need, responding to queries, and handling complaints professionally and promptly to ensure high customer satisfaction. - Point-of-Sale Transactions
Accurately process payments by cash or card, manage lay-bys, handle customer refunds, and balance your till. Any discrepancies must be reported immediately to the store supervisor. - Product Merchandising and Availability
Ensure merchandise is correctly priced and fully stocked on the sales floor. Keep displays clean and attractive while maintaining promotional setups as instructed. - Housekeeping and Store Presentation
Maintain neat and tidy sales areas in line with brand presentation standards. A clean store creates a welcoming atmosphere that enhances the shopping experience. - Loss Prevention and Risk Awareness
Follow store policy on tagging, participate in regular stock counts, and stay alert to suspicious activity. Report any potential shoplifting or fraud to management. - Company Culture and Standards

What You Need to Succeed
