PG Building Glass is seeking a diligent Cutter to operate the cutting table and ensure production and quality targets are met. The role involves operating the cutting line, inspecting incoming glass, adhering to standard operating procedures, and maintaining high levels of accuracy and safety
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 (Matric) qualification
- ~1 year of glass processing experience in a manufacturing environment
- Basic computer literacy
- Ability to read and interpret 2D drawings
- Proficient in the proper use of precision measuring equipment
- Understanding of mechanical/electrical systems of cutting machinery

- Self‑motivated and able to work independently
- High energy and ability to work under pressure in a fast‑paced environment
- Deadline‑driven with good planning and organizational skills
- Strong analytical and numerical competence
- Attention to detail and accuracy
Key Responsibilities
- Read and measure incoming glass accurately, inspecting for defects such as breaks or scratches
- Operate the cutting table as per job cards and process instructions
- Perform minor routine machine maintenance
- Document production details digitally and on paper, including quantities, dimensions, and material types
- Adhere to all safety procedures and report unsafe conditions immediately
- Ensure proper labelling, packing, and handling of glass for downstream processes
- Collaborate with operators to maintain workflow and quality control
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area
- Assist with other operational duties as required
