About the Role
As a BI Analyst, you will be responsible for designing and delivering robust reporting and data visualization solutions that meet both operational and analytical needs. Your work will help the business identify trends, optimize processes, and make informed decisions based on accurate data insights.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough impact assessments to identify and mitigate risks to systems and business processes.
- Obtain, manipulate, and analyze complex business data to derive meaningful insights.
- Develop dashboards and reports using modern BI tools to support decision-making and highlight key trends and patterns.
- Provide timely technical support for straightforward BI requests, ensuring quick resolution.
- Write and optimize SQL queries to retrieve and manipulate data, leveraging appropriate data solution toolsets.
- Test and validate BI solutions according to specifications and user requirements.
- Visualize data effectively using suitable tools to make complex information accessible.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business with analytical/commercial subjects, Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or an equivalent NQF level 8 qualification.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in Business Intelligence, with hands-on knowledge in data design, analysis, and reporting.
- Experience with test-driven development and BI environments.
- Advanced proficiency in SQL is essential.
- Familiarity with BI tools such as Qlik, Business Objects (BO), Looker Studio, Data Studio, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP) is advantageous.
- Knowledge of the retail industry will be a strong plus.
- Proficient user of Google Workspace and Microsoft Office Suite.
- A self-starter attitude, with curiosity and initiative to investigate problems, explore possibilities, and take decisive action.
- Strong competencies in quality devotion, accuracy, assertiveness, cooperation, analytical thinking, market orientation, integrity, and drive.
