Lead the development of South Africa’s fastest-growing restaurant chain. Pedros is looking for a visionary Project Manager to execute store builds and revamps with precision, innovation, and quality.
About Pedros
Pedros is one of South Africa’s rising QSR (Quick Service Restaurant) brands, known for its flame-grilled chicken, fresh concepts, and rapidly expanding footprint. With a people-first approach, Pedros believes in not just serving food but creating career opportunities, empowering communities, and staying ahead of trends in retail and hospitality. At the heart of Pedros’ success is its Development Division, responsible for turning ideas into physical experiences across the country.
The company is now looking for a Project Manager to oversee and manage both new store developments and revamp projects within the portfolio. This role offers an exciting opportunity to be at the centre of transforming spaces, managing build-outs, and innovating in design and function — all while meeting budget, time, and compliance standards.
Role Overview
As the Project Manager, you will be responsible for managing full-scope development projects from planning to post-completion. This includes liaising with internal teams, landlords, franchisees, and suppliers. Your main objective will be to ensure each store is completed on time, within budget, and aligned with the brand’s evolving aesthetic.
You will report directly to the Development Manager and collaborate closely with the Operations and Supply Chain divisions, ensuring every project contributes positively to business growth and brand presence.

- Handle tender processes with approved contractors and suppliers, evaluating cost, quality, and timelines.
- Track and manage project budgets, ensuring feasibility sign-off and cost control.
- Ensure all build-outs meet design specifications, brand standards, and are executed with high-quality workmanship.
- Provide input into design trends to ensure Pedros stores remain visually modern and appealing.
- Oversee store setup from pre-occupation to post-completion stages, including compliance checks and snag list closure.
- Ensure all regulatory compliance certificates are submitted and logged.
- Introduce and evaluate new contractors/suppliers when needed.
- Continuously monitor project risk and adjust plans proactively to mitigate delays or overspending.
Minimum Requirements
- A Degree or Diploma in Project Management, Building Construction, or Quantity Surveying.
- Minimum of 4 years’ experience in project management, preferably within retail or QSR (Quick Service Restaurant) industries.
- Hands-on experience managing both new build and remodelling projects.
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Office Suite — especially Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Demonstrated experience in supplier negotiations and budget controls.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Impeccable attention to detail and time management under pressure.
- High level of tech literacy and adaptability to digital project tracking tools.
Key Competencies
- Strategic Planning: Ability to plan ahead, organise resources, and ensure project alignment with business goals.
- Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills to liaise with landlords, contractors, and teams.
- Leadership: Capable of leading cross-functional teams while ensuring accountability and performance.
- Problem Solving: Ability to troubleshoot challenges in real-time, from contractor issues to delivery delays.
- Budget Management: Maintain strict control of project costs and handle financial feasibility checks.
- Innovation & Design Insight: Contribute to design discussions, adding creative input that reflects modern consumer expectations.
