Job Summary
RCL FOODS is looking for a qualified and experienced Electrician to join its Spreads Division in Boksburg, Gauteng. Reporting to the Engineering Superintendent, the successful candidate will ensure the smooth operation and maintenance of all electrical systems within a high-performance FMCG manufacturing environment. Minimum Requirements
Education & Qualifications
- N3 Electrical qualification
- Recognised Electrical Trade Test certificate
Experience & Skills
- Minimum 5 years’ experience as an electrician within the FMCG manufacturing industry
- Valid Medium Voltage (MV) training certificate
- Hands-on experience with AC and DC Drives
- PLC training with supporting certificate of attendance
- Practical exposure to instrumentation and process control
Key Responsibilities
1. Electrical Maintenance
- Carry out efficient and cost-effective electrical maintenance on all equipment
- Identify and resolve faults proactively to prevent breakdowns
- Perform electrical projects within specified timelines and technical specs
- Maintain all machinery and electrical systems in optimal working condition
2. Fault Detection and Breakdown Response
- Attend to electrical breakdowns to reduce production downtime
- Apply proper fault-finding techniques to prevent unnecessary repairs or repeat issues
- Keep breakdown logs updated and submit accurate reports
3. Safety and Compliance
- Enforce and adhere to Siqalo Foods safety and housekeeping protocols
- Use and comply with the work permit and lockout system
- Regularly inspect and maintain power factor correction systems to avoid penalties
4. Administration and Reporting
- Complete and submit all work orders and documentation on time
- Ensure no misleading or incomplete information is submitted
- Support production with accurate reporting and preventative insights
5. Availability and Commitment
- Participate in the stand-by duty roster
- Respond to after-hours call-outs with urgency
- Willingly work overtime or outside standard hours when necessary
- Practice strong time management to avoid unnecessary delays or costs
